During the blessed month of Ramadan, Aquila Safari opens its doors to families and travellers from around the world seeking to honour this time in a setting that brings people together.
Here, the rhythm of Ramadan is experienced alongside traditional safaris, expansive Karoo veld, and sweeping mountain landscapes, creating a journey that balances spiritual observance with shared moments, discovery and comfort. Located just two hours from Cape Town, Aquila offers a welcoming safari lodge destination that is accessible, inclusive and thoughtfully prepared for guests observing the holy month.
A Ramadan Experience Thoughtfully Aligned to the Holy Month
Ramadan at Aquila is offered as a seasonal experience, shaped around the timing, customs and practical needs of guests observing the fast.
At sunset, guests receive a private fast-breaking Iftar platter, delivered to their room and prepared with dates, fresh fruit and light savouries – allowing Iftar to be enjoyed in comfort and privacy.
Following evening prayers, guests may enjoy a dining experience in the main restaurant, featuring a variety of cuisine suited to different preferences.
As evening falls, guests can enjoy the open landscapes and mountain views. Before dawn, a light Suhoor breakfast is available to support the day’s fast, ensuring ease and comfort for all guests.
Prayer Facilities and Cultural Consideration
